Vegan Wine
Wine is made from grapes and is, by definition, plant-based. However, not everyone knows that animal-derived ingredients, such as casein, albumin, gelatin, isinglass and even ox blood, are still commonly used during the winemaking process of conventional wines. What’s more, it’s often overlooked that animal fertilizers may be used in the vineyards and even the packaging can contain animal-based substances, from the dyes and glues used on labels to other hidden components.
